Compton Unified School District continues to strengthen its college-going culture by providing scholars with meaningful opportunities to explore higher education. This week, 50 Long-Term English Learner (EL) scholars from Compton High School and Dominguez High School, representing grades 9 through 12, visited the California State University, Fullerton campus.

Sixty scholars from Compton Academy of Technology and Innovation (C-Tech), Compton High School, and Centennial High School recently participated in the 9th Annual Males Achieving Success (MAS) Conference at Fullerton College—an impactful experience designed to help young men envision, plan, and actively pursue their futures.

Compton Unified School District (CUSD) has recorded remarkable achievements on the most recent administration of the California Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBAC), surpassing previous benchmarks in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. This year’s preliminary results demonstrate a significant 8-point increase in ELA and a 6.4-point increase in Mathematics.

Scholars from Compton Unified School District (CUSD) showcased their STEM excellence at the Aerial Drone Competition in San Diego last week, bringing home multiple championship titles. Sixteen teams representing nine schools demonstrated their skills in coding, teamwork, and drone navigation.
